And, in truth, Lana Del Ray does speak to a certain time period and energy. Same reason I like Ke$ha. She’s not at all good, but she perfectly personifies the vibe given off by millions of young women who dress/behave/think as she does. Lana Del Ray does that 100% for a certain sort of Tumblr-girl. She’s sort of like ICP for girls who reblog photos of owls. That’s lame as fuck, but also sort of interesting.
